:: Notice Board :: Guidelines for Students
GENERAL GUIDELINES TO STUDENTS:

When your child steps into Oxford, he starts out on a great adventure; an adventure that will probably include joys as well as sorrows.

To live in the world he will require faith, love and courage. So we shall gladly take him by the hand and teach him the things he will have to know.

We shall teach him the three R’s of course and also the fourth –Religion and the Principles of Right Living.

We shall try to teach him gently. He will have to learn that all men are not just; that all men are not true. But we shall also teach him that for every scoundrel, there is a hero; that for every selfish politician, there is a dedicated leader; that for every enemy, there is a friend.

It will take time to know; but teach him we must –that a paisa earned is of far more value than a rupee found.

We shall teach him to learn to lose and to enjoy winning.

We shall try to steer him from envy and teach him the secret of quiet laughter.

We shall make him learn early that a bully is the easiest person to defeat.

We shall try to teach him the wonder of books, the eternal mystery of birds in the sky; of the bees and flowers in nature.

We shall teach him to have faith in his own ideas; to be gentle with gentle people and tough with tough people; and that it is far more honorable to fail than to cheat.

We shall try to give your child strength not to follow the crowd when everyone else is getting on the band wagon.

Surely, we shall teach him to be ready to listen to all men but also to filter all he hears on a screen of truth and take only the good that comes through.

We shall try to teach him how to smile when he is sad; that there is no shame in tears; that there can be glory in failure and despair in success.

We shall teach him that he must scoff at cynics and must beware of too much sweetness; that he ought to sell his brawn and brain to the highest bidder but never to put a price tag on his heart and soul.

We shall teach him to close his eyes and ears to the howling mob and to stand and fight if he thinks he is right.

Gently we shall treat him but we won’t coddle him because only the test of fire makes fine steel.

We shall teach him to always have sublime faith in himself because only then will he have sublime faith in mankind.

THIS IS A BIG PROMISE; DEAR PARENTS; BUT WE SHALL TRY OUR BEST TO FULFILL IT FOR
HE IS  SUCH A FINE LITTLE FELLOW;YOUR CHILD.
